Project Summary
This Putney family home was thoughtfully extended to the rear and side, creating a new kitchen and snug designed to become the true heart of the house. The brief was simple yet meaningful: to craft a space that felt welcoming, grounded and full of character, somewhere to gather, cook and unwind.
The Flooring Scheme
At the centre of the design is our smoked oak herringbone parquet flooring, bonded directly to the screed for a solid, seamless finish. Its rich tone and classic pattern provide a timeless foundation, anchoring the space while allowing the surrounding details to shine.
Light And Atmosphere
Natural light plays a defining role throughout the kitchen. Steel framed windows and a generous skylight flood the room with daylight, enhancing the warmth of the oak and giving the space an open, calm atmosphere.
Material And Colour Balance
The herringbone floor introduces a sense of traditional craftsmanship, beautifully balanced by painted cabinetry in deep green and mustard tones, a subtle palette that adds depth without overpowering the room.
Bespoke Details
Four bespoke steps were crafted to flow naturally from the new flooring, reinforcing continuity between levels and reflecting the care taken in every detail of the project.
